Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Miniatures, which included the work Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough (1660-1744), facing left in spotted white day-gown with pink cloak draped over her right shoulder, her long fair hair falling in a curl over her left shoulder by Charles Boit. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,484.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Boit achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Peter The Great, Emperor Of Russia (1672-1723) in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 105,747.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough (1660-1744), facing left in spotted white day-gown with pink cloak draped over her right shoulder, her long fair hair falling in a curl over her left shoulder von Charles Boit zur Versteigerung kam.
