Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Christies held the auction Julians Park and Six Private Collections: Live, which included the work A gentleman with blue eyes, in gold brocade, lace jabot and red bow, long curling wig by Charles Beale Junior. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,913.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Beale Junior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two portrait studies of children, bust-length in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 49,798.50).
