Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, traditionally identified as Lady Darnell, bust-length, in a brown and white dress, with a blue wrap, in a painted oval by Charles Beale Junior was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,227.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Beale Junior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two portrait studies of children, bust-length in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 49,798.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, traditionally identified as Lady Darnell, bust-length, in a brown and white dress, with a blue wrap, in a painted oval von Charles Beale Junior kam im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
