Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Lost in thought, in a painted oval by Charles Baxter for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,274.14). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Baxter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Flute Player, which sold at auction in October 2004 for USD 14,340.00 (€ 11,250.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Lost in thought, in a painted oval von Charles Baxter für GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.274,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Baxter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Flute Player beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für USD 14.340,00 (€ 11.250,59) versteigert wurde.
