Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES, which included the work A girl with a bird's nest in a landscape by Charles Baxter. The price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,706.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Baxter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Flute Player in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 14,340.00 (€ 11,250.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A girl with a bird's nest in a landscape von Charles Baxter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.706,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Baxter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Flute Player im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.340,00 (€ 11.250,59).
