Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Faten Hamama by Chant Avedissian was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Online auction at Bonhams in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 6,400.00 (€ 6,400.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chant Avedissian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icons Of The Nile in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,188,487.24).
