Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Cities Of Egypt/Greetings From Masr by Chant Avedissian. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 40,597.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chant Avedissian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Icons Of The Nile in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,188,487.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cities Of Egypt/Greetings From Masr von Chant Avedissian zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 40.597,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chant Avedissian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Icons Of The Nile im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.188.487,24).
