Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I, which included the work Still life of two shelducks hanging from their bills by Cesare Dandini. The price achieved of USD 176,400.00 (€ 145,364.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cesare Dandini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Michael The Archangel, which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 542,500.00 (€ 423,695.72).
