Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Two Portraits Of The Artist'S Grandfather by Cerith Wyn Evans. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,662.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cerith Wyn Evans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Inverse Reverse Perverse in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 176,400.00 (€ 150,217.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Portraits Of The Artist'S Grandfather von Cerith Wyn Evans zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.662,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cerith Wyn Evans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Inverse Reverse Perverse im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 150.217,15).
