Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works, which included the work Spanish estanque Del Retiro (The Retiro Lake) by Cecilio Plá. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecilio Plá - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spanish En La Playa (On The Beach), which sold at auction in May 2014 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,435.48).

Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings Including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanish estanque Del Retiro (The Retiro Lake) von Cecilio Plá zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.962,49) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecilio Plá mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spanish En La Playa (On The Beach) beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.435,48) versteigert wurde.
