Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work The Morning Of Appleby Fair by Cecil Maguire for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,469.30). This price was achieved in the auction British & Irish Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecil Maguire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting for the Boat, Kilronan, Inishmore, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 11,352.50 (€ 17,032.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Morning Of Appleby Fair von Cecil Maguire für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.469,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecil Maguire mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waiting for the Boat, Kilronan, Inishmore beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 11.352,50 (€ 17.032,93) versteigert wurde.
