Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Portbradden, Whitepark Bay by Cecil Maguire. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,767.50 (€ 10,822.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by Cecil Maguire have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2004 the work Waiting for the Boat, Kilronan, Inishmore was auctioned for GBP 11,352.50 (€ 17,032.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portbradden, Whitepark Bay von Cecil Maguire zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.767,50 (€ 10.822,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Cecil Maguire konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2004 die Arbeit Waiting for the Boat, Kilronan, Inishmore für GBP 11.352,50 (€ 17.032,93) versteigert.
