A top price for Cecco di Pietro - as previously expected
In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Baptism Of Christ by Cecco di Pietro. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 78,016.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Baptism Of Christ is the most expensive artwork by Cecco di Pietro that we have observed at auctions so far.
