Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Pietà by Cecco di Pietro. The result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,853.49) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecco di Pietro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Baptism Of Christ, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 78,016.04).
