Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Saint Peter; Saint Simon by Cecco di Pietro. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,937.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecco di Pietro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Baptism Of Christ, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 78,016.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Peter; Saint Simon von Cecco di Pietro zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 28.937,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecco di Pietro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Baptism Of Christ beobachtet, die im Juli 2012 für GBP 61.250,00 (€ 78.016,04) versteigert wurde.
