Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Made for Him, Made for Her by Carrie Mae Weems was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 20,038.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carrie Mae Weems achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).
