Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, C. 1960 by Carlo Mollino was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Mollino achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Important And Unique Dining Table in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,181,350.00 (€ 5,307,246.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, C. 1960 von Carlo Mollino im November 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Mollino erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Important And Unique Dining Table im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.181.350,00 (€ 5.307.246,50).
