In October 2017 Christies in London held the auction Masterpieces of Design & Photography, which included the work A rare and important dining suite by Carlo Mollino. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 668,750.00 (€ 762,505.90), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carlo Mollino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Important And Unique Dining Table in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 6,181,350.00 (€ 5,307,246.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Masterpieces of Design & Photography durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rare and important dining suite von Carlo Mollino zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 668.750,00 (€ 762.505,90) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Mollino auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Important And Unique Dining Table im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.181.350,00 (€ 5.307.246,50).
