This artwork by Carlo Cignani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2008. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work An Allegorical Scene With Wisdom And Prudence sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,897.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Cignani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory of the Five Senses in January last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 292,186.94).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlo Cignani erzielte im Februar 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit An Allegorical Scene With Wisdom And Prudence für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.897,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Cignani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Allegory of the Five Senses im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 292.186,94).
