The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,779.32) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Cignani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory of the Five Senses in January last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 292,186.94).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A winged and draped angel von Carlo Cignani kam im Januar 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.779,32) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Cignani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Allegory of the Five Senses im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 292.186,94).
