Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Madonna And Child by Carlo Cignani. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 47,528.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carlo Cignani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Allegory of the Five Senses in January last year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 292,186.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna And Child von Carlo Cignani zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 47.528,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Cignani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Allegory of the Five Senses im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 292.186,94).
