Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Faggot gatherers crossing a bridge at an Italian hilltown by Carlo Brancaccio for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.63). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Brancaccio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mount Vesuvius from Procida in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,600.00 (€ 54,312.56).
