Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The choir boy by Carl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 1,775.32). Admittedly, works by Carl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mummy, See! in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,367.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The choir boy von Carl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle im September 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 1.775,32) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mummy, See! im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.367,08).
