Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work Smoke Trees, Palm Springs by Carl Sammons. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 901.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carl Sammons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Desert Bloom, Palm Springs in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,376.00 (€ 4,928.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Smoke Trees, Palm Springs von Carl Sammons zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 901,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Sammons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Desert Bloom, Palm Springs im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.376,00 (€ 4.928,49).
