Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bear Harbor Ranch sight 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. framed 12 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. by Carl Sammons was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 704.00 (€ 645.40). Admittedly, works by Carl Sammons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Desert Bloom, Palm Springs in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,376.00 (€ 4,928.49).
