Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Casitas in the desert (a group of two) by Carl Sammons was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,630.07). Other works by Carl Sammons have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November this year by the work Desert Bloom, Palm Springs at USD 5,376.00 (€ 4,928.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Casitas in the desert (a group of two) von Carl Sammons im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.630,07) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Carl Sammons wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November diesen Jahres die Arbeit Desert Bloom, Palm Springs mit USD 5.376,00 (€ 4.928,49).
