Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carl Sammons could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Mt. San Gorgonio - Desert, Palm Springs, Calif. changed hands for USD 637.50 (€ 521.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Carl Sammons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Desert Bloom, Palm Springs in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,376.00 (€ 4,928.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Sammons konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion California and Western Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Mt. San Gorgonio - Desert, Palm Springs, Calif. für USD 637,50 (€ 521,26) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Sammons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Desert Bloom, Palm Springs im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.376,00 (€ 4.928,49).
