Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Big Horn Sheep by Carl Rungius. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 34,375.00 (€ 25,984.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Rungius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 581,500.00 (€ 554,601.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Horn Sheep von Carl Rungius zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 25.984,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Rungius erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 581.500,00 (€ 554.601,81).
