Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bull Elk In The High Country by Carl Rungius was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 300,000.00 (€ 264,947.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Rungius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 581,500.00 (€ 554,601.81).
