Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Big Horn Sheep by Carl Rungius. The price achieved of USD 250,000.00 (€ 236,697.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Rungius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows, which sold at auction in December 2002 for USD 581,500.00 (€ 554,601.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Big Horn Sheep von Carl Rungius zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 236.697,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Rungius mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alaskan Brown Bear-Out of the Shadows beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für USD 581.500,00 (€ 554.601,81) versteigert wurde.
