Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Swedish screw battleship Stockholm in heavy seas, with small craft nearby by Carl Frederik Sørensen was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,950.27). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Frederik Sørensen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pool of London, which sold at auction in July last year for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 24,074.62).

Als die Arbeit The Swedish screw battleship Stockholm in heavy seas, with small craft nearby von Carl Frederik Sørensen im Mai 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.950,27) den Besitzer.
