In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Corvette Valkyrien Being Tugged By The Steamer Hertha Out Of Copenhagen, Before A Voyage To The East Indies by Carl Frederik Sørensen for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 9,846.48). This price was achieved in the auction Marine Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Frederik Sørensen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pool of London, which sold at auction in July last year for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 24,074.62).
