Upper estimate price exceeded by 28 %.
In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The River Arun by Carel Weight. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,240.06), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carel Weight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Thames at Hammersmith in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The River Arun von Carel Weight zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.240,06) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carel Weight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Thames at Hammersmith im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60).
