Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work View of Dover Castle taken from the Heights (illustrated); View of Sunderland Bridge; and View of Dover Castle by John Durrant for GBP 687.50 (€ 777.90). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors Including Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours From The Collection of The Late John Appleby at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Durrant have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two studies of Dover boats; A hovelling boat, Dover, used for piloting and mackerel fishing; View from South Shields, the banks of the Tyne at low water and people gathering coals (illustrated); A Ride [sic. packet sailing from Portsmouth to Ride s in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,182.49)

Im März 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit View of Dover Castle taken from the Heights (illustrated); View of Sunderland Bridge; and View of Dover Castle von John Durrant für GBP 687,50 (€ 777,90) erwerben.
