Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Palais Garnier Paris XXVIII 2005 by Candida Höfer was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 44,450.00 (€ 41,721.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Candida Höfer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Biblioteca Geral da Universidade de Coimbra IV, which sold at auction in February 2015 for GBP 80,500.00 (€ 110,997.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Palais Garnier Paris XXVIII 2005 von Candida Höfer kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 44.450,00 (€ 41.721,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Candida Höfer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Biblioteca Geral da Universidade de Coimbra IV beobachtet, die im Februar 2015 für GBP 80.500,00 (€ 110.997,54) versteigert wurde.
