Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Invention by Caio Fonseca was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,072.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caio Fonseca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tenth Street #80 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,085.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Invention von Caio Fonseca wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.072,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caio Fonseca erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tenth Street #80 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.085,25).
