Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Custom to Motherland No. 3 by Cai Zhisong. The price achieved of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 41,067.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 280,000.00 – 380,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cai Zhisong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Custom to Motherland No. 5, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 1,580,000.00 (€ 151,152.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Custom to Motherland No. 3 von Cai Zhisong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 41.067,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 280.000,00 – 380.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cai Zhisong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Custom to Motherland No. 5 beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 1.580.000,00 (€ 151.152,90) versteigert wurde.
