Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in Paris held the auction Collection Jean-Paul Jungo, which included the work Synecdoche (tryptique) by Byron Kim. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Byron Kim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Synecdoche in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,930.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Collection Jean-Paul Jungo durch, in der auch die Arbeit Synecdoche (tryptique) von Byron Kim zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Byron Kim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Synecdoche im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.930,41).
