In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction An American Place | The Barney A. Ebsworth Collection Day Sale, which included the work Salute Each Time the Cock Crows by Byron Browne. The »bidding war« ended at USD 93,750.00 (€ 82,796.08), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Byron Browne; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Classical Still Life sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of USD 162,500.00 (€ 143,513.20).
