Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head in Black and Scarlet by Byron Browne was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman auction at Christies in New York in March 2012. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,812.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Byron Browne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Classical Still Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 162,500.00 (€ 143,513.20).
