This artwork by Budi Kustarto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2006. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Menarik/Tarik (Pulling/Pull) sold for HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,062.39) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Budi Kustarto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tricycle Ice Cream (Construction Series) in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,844.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Budi Kustarto erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Menarik/Tarik (Pulling/Pull) für HKD 50.400,00 (€ 5.062,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Budi Kustarto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tricycle Ice Cream (Construction Series) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.844,71).
