In July this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work A Day at the Fun Fair by Brian Shields. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,160.00 (€ 14,187.03), 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Brian Shields; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Terraces And Mills sold at auction in December 2013 with the realized price of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 24,056.90).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Day at the Fun Fair von Brian Shields zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.160,00 (€ 14.187,03) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Brian Shields; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Terraces And Mills im Dezember 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 24.056,90).
