This artwork by Robert Wilson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in October 2018. In the She Was a Giant Collection Bénédicte Pesle auction, the work Dessin original préparatoire pour l'Opéra "Einstein on the Beach" sold for EUR 1,875.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Civil War Act I, II, III, IV, V, 72 works in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 43,409.48).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Wilson erzielen.
