This artwork by Bob Thompson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2017. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Salome's Dance or Feast of Herod sold for USD 175,000.00 (€ 155,749.38) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bob Thompson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Meeting Man sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of USD 327,600.00 (€ 307,490.14).

In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Salome's Dance or Feast of Herod für USD 175.000,00 (€ 155.749,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bob Thompson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Meeting Man im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 307.490,14).
