Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work American 2 Train, The Crazy Faces Of Blade by Blade was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 9,375.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Blade - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beyond The Wall, 1984, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 37,176.00.
