In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection, which included the work Little Arkansas River by Birger Sandzén. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,726.52), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Birger Sandzén have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moonrise Among The Red Rocks in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 121,829.36).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Little Arkansas River von Birger Sandzén zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 29.726,52) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Birger Sandzén auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moonrise Among The Red Rocks im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 121.829,36).
