Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tom, 1968 by Billy Al Bengston was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year. The price achieved of USD 7,012.50 (€ 7,168.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Billy Al Bengston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lester, 1961 in February 2020 with an auction result of USD 548,075.00 (€ 497,120.18).

Die Arbeit Tom, 1968 von Billy Al Bengston kam im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 7.168,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden.
