Auction result misses estimated price range
In February last year a collector was able to acquire the work Mule, 1939-1942 by Bill Traylor for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,183.18). This price was achieved in the auction Outsider Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Traylor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mule, 1939-1942 von Bill Traylor für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.183,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Traylor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
