Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man in a Blue Chair with a Pipe by Bill Traylor was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. The price achieved of USD 74,340.00 (€ 68,465.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bill Traylor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Man in a Blue Chair with a Pipe von Bill Traylor wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 74.340,00 (€ 68.465,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Traylor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
