Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,115.82). Admittedly, works by Bill Traylor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Figures with Large Barrel, 1939-1942 von Bill Traylor wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.115,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Traylor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
